* Short Character Summary: Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Peyton was a good baby. She didn't cry and she didn't fuss, but as soon as she was old enough to crawl she got into everything. She was awkward, she had large ears and big teeth, but she's grown into both. Her brother moved away to school at UCLA and has since come back. She looks up to him a lot and sees him as more of a father figure than her own father. Graduated high school and has dabbled in some college courses, but refuses to really settle on anything right now. Her brother approves of that and would rather her find her own way than be pushed into anything like he was.
* Character History: Peyton Marie Masters was born August 26th, 1987 and from her debut her parents, Jennifer and Bastien Masters, knew she was going to be different and she proved them right. As a baby she didn't give them many problems, her biggest was perhaps that when she learned to crawl she began to get into everything. While at home alone with her mother one day, Jennifer found her, refrigerator door open and covered in chocolate syrup, among other unmentionable kitchen condiments. Relish might have been involved.
As a toddler she was coddled, adored possibly too much, by her parents. Jennifer and Bastien came from money, something they didn't exactly try to hide. They lived in a large enough house, which was completely baby proof again by the time Jennifer was 5 months along. Peyton may have gotten into the refrigerator but her fingers never made it into any sockets. She grew partial to her father, who was 20 years older than her mother, and soon became his little protege, attaching herself to his leg whenever he was home.
By the time she was 6 she was already learning to strum a guitar (her father played in his free time), though the one she had to practice on was much too large for her and she quickly grew frustrated with her pudgy fingers. When Peyton was in 5th grade she started to play again, her fingers were more slender now and she was able to learn chords. She memorized songs her daddy taught her, practicing them until she had blisters on her fingers. Her mom hated this, she believed girls had soft, delicate hands, not hands covered in callouses, especially not at the age of 10.
As a teenager Peyton has grown into her looks, her ears not so large, but her eyes just as squinty. She sometimes trades in her slightly boyish clothes for tighter jeans and lower cut tops. She's was the same Peyton, but she'd found a new way to present herself, her hair wasn't quite as stringy and she'd discovered the art of makeup. By the time high school came along she wasn't exactly an outcast, but she didn't have too many close friends either. She was one of those girls that decided she'd rather have a few close friends than know everyone in the school.
Being sent to boarding school wasn't something that Peyton saw coming, but she didn't exactly mind it too much either. At this point she wasn't as close to her father as she had been in the past and her mother constantly bought her dresses and things that had her mother really known her would have known Peyton never would have worn them. No matter what anyone thinks the two are strictly platonic and even her brother is skeptical. The two moved back to Peyton's hometown after she graduated and have been living together in a small two bedroom apartment. Mostly she takes care of him, doing the laundry and the dishes while he gives her the company she seeks with the side of pervy she needs for entertainment value. She works at Jerry's to pay rent, knowing if she wanted them to her parents would be more than happy to pick up the whole tab, but she's not struggling and she's nowhere near giving up.
* Personality: Peyton was a tomboy until the time she hit high school. She liked jeans and baseball caps and never wore make up. Peyton isn't a sexual being, she's happy being alone, but having mickey around helps her make sure she's not completely closed off. She'd rather spend time at home watching Breakfast Club and Ferris Bueller's day off than try sneaking into a bar or a club. It's not that she doesn't like to drink or doesn't know how to party, she does, but she'd rather go to house parties where it's easier to escape the groping hands and heavy breathing dancers. She's also shy at first, but once she gets to know you she'll chat your ear off.
* Family: Bastien Masters is cardiologist and Jennifer Masters is a housewife. She decided when she was pregnant with Peyton's older brother that she wouldn't be going to work after that. Dylan (dylanrider), Peyton's older brother, once a student at UCLA now lives near and works with Peyton. He's the only family she actually likes.
* Future Ambitions: Peyton doesn't know exactly what she wants in life, but at 21 she figures she doesn't have to rush anything. A lot of people are more ambitious and have already found their calling, but she thinks it's better to wait for hers than to get caught up in something that isn't.
